Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time. That's how great stories begin. And this post is the beginning of a great story: Our Story.
It's about time our family started blogging. Justs Write Here probably should have been started three years ago during our first pregnancy. Or at least after our daughter's birth. Or maybe after we spent time in the hospital with our daughter right after her first birthday. Instead, we are starting it March 13, 2010--for no particular reason other than I (Malinda, that is) had some time to sit down and write.
Over time, we will go back and revisit the emotional roller coaster of the last three years. But for now, let's begin with the present.
Brad works in the Office of Information Services and Technology at Tabor College by day. Any other time he goes by Daddy. As Daddy, Brad spends time playing tractors, coloring tractors and watching You-Tube tractors with our almost two-year-old, Gracelyn.
Gracelyn is an active toddler. We will celebrate her 2nd birthday next month! Her favorite activities are singing, coloring, using stickers and going on walks with her buddy, Addison. She also likes to talk...a lot.
I am a stay-at-home mom. Though I'm on call 24/7, I wouldn't trade my job for anything. I do earn an actual paycheck as a part-time employee for the Hillsboro Free Press. I write a monthly column, Lipstick & Pearls, I proofread the paper in it's entirety before it goes to press, and I occasionally fill in on the County Commission beat.
Our family is also playing the waiting game right now. We are expecting pink#2 on May 18. Our main goal for the next two months is to decide on a name for our little gem. And our goal for this blog is to keep our readers up-to-date with the realities of life in a young family of three...soon to be four.
