Let's be SOCIAL

As a child

Brad and I are MBY sponsors at our church, and last night we took a group of kids to root on the Hillsboro High School girls basketball team at the first round of the state tourney. (They won, by the way!)

We were going to take the girls with us, but at the last minute, Brad's parents asked if they could watch the girls. (Our parents are WONDERFUL about wanting the girls!)

So, we left them in Grandma and Grandpa's capable hands. Before we left, we had a discussion with Gracelyn about obeying grandma and grandpa. "OK," she said, as we left. When we returned at a late hour, Brad's mom said they had a hard time getting Gracelyn to go to sleep...I figured that would happen. Gracelyn LOVES to play with her grandparents!

When I asked Gracelyn at breakfast if she had fun with her grandparents, and what they did, the first thing out of her mouth was, "I didn't obey Grandma & Grandpa." When asked why, "I didn't stay in bed." And she was remorseful! She's now awaiting the chance to apologize and make things right.

Wow. If only I confessed my sins as readily. Without prompting. Without excuse.
Dear God, help me be as a child, for then I will inherit the kingdom. Amen.
