Let's be SOCIAL

Something to ponder

Yesterday morning, I made a quick stop at Dale's Supermarket with both girls in tow. It was raining. Gracelyn was poking along holding her ladybug umbrella. I was trying to hurry under the awning so I could preserve my hair and make sure the cold rain didn't wake up Jemma.                  Upon entering the store, we met up with an elderly gentleman, who made comment about how small Gracelyn is. Ironic, coming from a man who towered over every other person in the store. He was making conversation with everyone. People humored him, but I could tell they wanted to get on with their day...kind of like me...
And then I looked down at his feet. While I couldn't guess at the size of his shoe, it was obvious that he needed a new pair. His black shoes were mostly tan because the outer black lining had fallen off. It struck me yesterday. It breaks my heart today.
What if I would have went up to him and said, "Sir, come with my girls and me to Alco so we can buy you new shoes." How might that have brightened an otherwise rainy day?
Jesus said, "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" -Matthew 25:40
