Let's be SOCIAL

Community

One of my friends, Tami over at Unseen Roots, recently wrote about the importance of church community. Recently her newborn nephew, Graham, had open-heart surgery. Tami wrote about how she loved having "a huge network of believers to tap on the shoulder to pray." And how she felt an "unexplainable amount of peace and contentment that only comes from a multitude of believers praying at the same time."

God's presence with us in the form of community is powerful.

Another friend, Anna at Home on the Range, has recently been plugging-in to the wider community in support of her soon-to-be adopted son, Blake. Today she found out that the family's adoption papers have been accepted, and they could be traveling within a month!

The outpouring of community support for the Woods family has been overwhelming. You entered drawings--gift cards, kid's items, 46" flatscreen TV--all in support of Blake. You came out and supported Leah's lemonade stand. You left comments on Anna's blog after KSN covered the Woods' adoption.

And now, the Woods family is in the final stages of the adoption process. Let's show them even more what community can do! Let's send them to the top of their fundraising goal. I challenge you to give to this worthy cause. I also challenge you to pray for this worthy cause.

Let's give the Woods' an unexplained amount of peace and contentment that only comes from a multitude of believers praying (and giving!) at the same time.

  2. Love this Malinda! You are such a great supporter and prayer advocator. I'm blessed to have you be a part of my "community" and I'm sure Anna would say the same thing!
