Day 18: Protection

"For you are my hiding place;
    you protect me from trouble.
    You surround me with songs of victory." Psalm 32:7 (NLT)

It was a Monday afternoon and we were still living in the country. I had hopped in the van to drive to work at the Free Press.

The mail man was stopped on the low end of a hill, putting mail in a box...and I started to pull out to put a good deal of distance between our vehicles. I didn't want to hit him.

But something stopped me. I could feel resistance as I tried to manuever my vehicle...and instead of making a wide berth around the stopped car, I continued to go straight.

And in the next instance, one of our local high schoolers came over the other side of the hill.

I was headed for destruction, and didn't even know it.

In that moment, I knew God's hand had protected me. If not for His hand, I would have been in an accident...and probably not a "good" one.

What times can you think of where you have felt God's protection over you?
