Heavy hearted
Day 14: Omnipresent **
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
I have a heavy heart as I write today...part of the joy of this season has been marred by the senseless murders of children and adults in Newtown, Connecticut. For those families, and for many, many others, Christmas will never be the same...instead it will always carry grief.
It is like that in our family as well...my little brother died on New Year's Eve. And when the rest of the world celebrates, I, for one, tend to hole up...the memories are never far away.
And so today I find myself grieving for the lives tragically lost...and for their families. At this moments, words don't do justice.
Instead I will keep praying to our ever-present God for the families, for the students, for the administration, for our nation and for our local and national leadership as we move forward from this tragedy.
