The simple life

Are there any other Beverly Lewis fans out there?
From as early as I can remember, I have loved reading fiction. Some would argue that reading fiction isn't the most intelligent use of my time, but I disagree.

I manage to get wrapped up in fiction. If I don't want to finish a book in the same day I started, then the book isn't worth my time.

I just finished reading "The Secret" by Beverly Lewis. She writes fictional stories based on Plain (Amish) culture. For some reason, I'm intrigued by the Amish. I can't say it's the strict rules of their religion that pull me in. It's more the simple lifestyle.

How many times have I been burdened by the amount of stuff I have? How many times have I wondered how much better relationships might be if I didn't have so many distractions--including my relationship with my Heavenly Father?

And yet, it would be such a challenge to give all the stuff up. For starters, how would I take a shower in the mornings if not for PBS?
