25 Days of Christmas: God's Promises
Day 3: Made in God's Image
"So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27 (NLT)

Up until about a year ago, I tended to look upon humanity with a little disdain. I mean, really, we tend to ruin a lot of things. We can be pretty selfish, with little regard for the world around us.
But in a Bible study (which I can't actually remember what book we were doing...) we read through a chapter on how God communicates with us through humanity.
Because we are all made in His image.
That's why believers and non-believers alike share different qualities of our creator: kindness, generosity, justice...the list goes on and on.
That's also why God tells us: "For God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
Opening my eyes to that promise has made me see God's beauty in the people around me...it has also given me more compassion.
It's a wonderful thing to be able to see God communicate with an "everyday" humanity.
We mean so much, as we were created in HIS image!
"God created human beings;
he created them godlike,
Reflecting God’s nature." Genesis 1:27 (The Message)
