Losing it
Day 15: Joy
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." John 15: 9-11 (NIV)
I can't find my wedding ring. I know...WHO in their RIGHT mind loses their wedding ring? But really, somewhere between my nightstand and my finger, it got lost.
My ring is my most treasured possession. Not only is it valuable, but it is a symbol of the love my husband and I share...and it makes me sick that it is missing.
I tell you this, not because I feel joyful about this situation, but to make a little parallel. Bear with me...
I imagine the heaviness I feel is similar to what God feels as He watches his treasures get lost. And I also am sure he rejoices when the lost are found.
At least I know I will do a happy dance when my ring is back in its rightful place.
Let's cherish our place as God's treasures today by remaining in His love so our joy may be complete.
