Learning to skip

Miss J started gymnastics in September.
Over this last week she mastered skipping. Skipping? Not cartwheels, flips, back handsprings?

For those of us that can skip, we take for granted how easy it is. But watching a child try to put all the elements together...it's actually quite complicated to get all those body parts to cooperate. And when Miss J first started "getting it," it took a ton of mental concentration for her to process everything.

But she did it. And I'm so proud.

I think that's how my Heavenly Father feels after I've mastered something that comes easily to His nature. I pray so often for wisdom...and finally, last week a friend sent me this verse:

"But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace-loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere." (James 3:17)

It's a checklist for wisdom!

What an amazing gem of a verse that I didn't know until last week. I'm thankful God didn't just say, "Oh, that girl. Praying for wisdom again. She will never catch on--I give up." I'm glad He kept persisting...just as I did with Miss J...until I mastered this lesson.

Have you been learning to skip recently? I'd love to hear about it!
