Finishing Touches: New Growth!
Since January, the view out of my back (kitchen) door has been dirt.
Today, a new color caught my eye.
New growth!
This whole project has been a timely, God-sent illustration. And how appropriate that the new growth day is also a new hope day in my recovery. It's tender, like this new grass, but it's also rooted in Christ. And he is a wellspring of knowledge and wisdom, and I am overflowing with thankfulness (see Col. 2:3, 6-7).
This verse from Isaiah is what came to mind this morning, as my eye caught hold of a new color...growing out of that dirt pile that has been my backyard for 8 months:
“But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
19 For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
20 The wild animals in the fields will thank me,
the jackals and owls, too,
for giving them water in the desert.
Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed." Isa. 43: 18-20
Where are you seeing new growth in Christ? I'd love to hear!
